John, Always enjoyed your enthusiasm and passion for Land Surveying. Your talks and comments at Regional Group Meetings inspired and drove me to study harder and do my research. I appreciated your welcoming attitude, and guidance, while working for MacIntosh Perry.

John was truly a purest in the profession. His enthusiastic drive to pursue the evidence set him apart from others and acted as inspiration for many to aspire to his methods. John was the gentle giant of the survey profession and his footprints will remain with us for years to come. He was one of my greatest sources of knowledge and inspirations in the profession. Thanks John, you will be missed.

It is a rare gem to have one’s life crossed with an individual of such poise, integrity and inspiration, a consummate professional. Words alone will never convey the depth of John’s loss to our profession – he made us all great surveyors, but more so greater people. Thank you Kind Sir for your mentorship, your wise counsel…for your friendship. I will miss you dearly.

The week the profession lost an excellent Surveyor and even better person. I always enjoyed our conversations, they were always a mixture of Surveying information, past and present, current events, personal and professional and at the end of our conversations, some time to talk about our families. As sad as I am to hear of his passing, thinking of John still puts a smile on my face. You will be missed.
