The Association of Ontario Land Surveyors is sad to notify you of the death of John Stuart Duncan, OLS# 1242 John passed away at Hospice Peterborough on Tuesday, December 17, 2019, in his 75th year. John was the loving husband for 50 years of Joan (née Oliver), and the devoted father of Andrew (Joyce Grant), Jill (Colin Mitchell) and Laura. A wonderful Grandpa to Bennett, Maxwell and Thomas. Dear brother of Kenneth (Nancy) and James (Suzzanne). John left this world the same way he lived in it—with determination, grace, kindness and dignity that inspired everyone around him. He was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, to Florence Henry and John Duncan. John was an Ontario Land Surveyor for his entire career, and retired as owner of Beninger Surveying in Peterborough. He was a loyal friend, an active volunteer, church member, curler, card player, and he loved diving off the dock at the cottage. John loved his family more than anything and his family loved him so much. We would like to thank Hospice Peterborough for giving John, and our family, extraordinary care and support that allowed us to spend quality time together during his final days. Friends are invited to call at Ashburnham Funeral Home, 840 Armour Road, Peterborough, on Friday, December 20, 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at St. John’s Anglican Church, 99 Brock Street, Peterborough, on Saturday, December 21, at 11 a.m. In memory of John, donations to Community Care Peterborough or Hospice Peterborough would be appreciated.

So sad to hear of another of "our class" passed away. Met John at the long ago in Toronto at the classes held during articling. He always had a smile on his face and a Good Morning. My thoughts with his family at this time
