God called Fernando peacefully on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at the age of 47. He will be forever missed by his loving wife Rosie. Cherished by his dear children, Joey and Michael. Beloved son of Ida and Giuseppe, and brother of Carm (Doug Doctor), and Jay (Paola). Cherished uncle of Luca, Gabriel, Sicily, Samuel, Eloisa, and Massimo. Dear Son-in-Law of Giuseppe and Adelina Iafrate, and Brother-In-Law of Laura (Fernando Silva). Deeply missed by his best friend and honorary brother, Paolo Cornacchia. He will be held dear in the hearts of his family, relatives, and many friends. Visitations will take place at the Vescio Funeral Home Woodbridge Chapel (8101 Weston Rd. 905-850-3332) on Thursday December 28, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 29, 2017 at a time to be determined at St. Jude’s Roman Catholic Church (3265 Weston Rd., south of Finch Ave.). I always read the obituaries of the OLS's who have passed away and it saddens me to see the overall numbers dwindling, but Fernando's passing came as quite a shock, not just because he was a youthful 47 but because he was sworn in as an OLS right after I was. My number is 1837.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Fern’s early passing. He was a bright light when he joined MMM and rose to leadership of the eastern wing of Geomatics. Condolences to his family.
